Solving Kids Cancer - Thank you Cyclones

Solving Kids' Cancer (SKC), a NYC-based nonprofit organization dedicated to significantly im-prove survivorship of the deadliest childhood cancers by finding, funding, and advocating for breakthrough treatment options worldwide, wants to express its deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to the NYC Cyclones Youth Hockey Administration and to each and every one of its board members, directors, coaches, team managers, and especially to all the Cyclones players who participated in the "Lace Up for Kids" campaign that took place in September during pediatric cancer awareness month.

Players generously helped raise awareness by wearing special gold hockey laces that were distributed to players at all team levels.  Although some of the sizes may have been a little bit off at times, SKC greatly appreciated the coaches', team managers' and players' creativity and efforts to "make them work."  Rufus "Ru" Gray, number 25 and defenseman for NYC Cyclone's 14U AA, was overheard saying "wearing the laces made me happy because I knew I was help-ing children."  Will Rayner, Head Coach of the same team, added that he was extremely proud of the way his players conducted themselves and helped raise awareness for pediatric cancer by wearing gold laces.  "Through thick and thin, these kids continue to support each other as well as charitable organizations like SKC.  It makes them feel like they're in the pros ... gives them the confidence to say 'hey, I can do this, I am a piece of the puzzle in this quest to cure and help in any way we can.'" The campaign was very successful thanks to everyone's partici-pation and great spirit.
